WestCreek Homes is a well established homebuilder in Calgary constructing new homes and different product types in various communities. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team.

The following is a list of key responsibilities, but are not limited to the following: 

• Product development by creating leading edge new home design with options and elevations
• Drafting – preparing residential home plans; revising standard plans to meet customer’s vision, creating new models and elevations, updating standard plans and blacklines as needed, preparing details for standard or customized items such as fireplaces, HIRF, Niches, etc.
• Building Pockets – helping sales to determine the pocket size for allowable house width as well as garage orientation on the lot
• Adjusting grades as per the provided plot plan, making sure everything works properly and adding additional siding, steps, etc. where applicable
• Reviewing Truss and Joist layouts for accuracy, adding pad and beam pocket sizes to the foundation plan

Candidate Requirements

The qualified candidate for the estimator position will require the following:

• Strong understanding and experience in residential housing design
• Architectural Technology Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 5-10 years experience in the Residential Industry
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, knowledge with Revit is a plus
• Ability to work in Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Outlook
• Knowledge of the Alberta Building Code information and how to use it
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the Company including its executive team.

• Schedule job files from construction start to occupancy
• Conduct periodic walk-through meetings with customers
• Work with trades and peers to complete tasks and timelines
• Supervise and moderate safety policies and procedures
• Track job budgets and efficiencies
• Attend weekly meetings with management to review construction activity
• Maintain a safe and clean job site
• Work with minor construction tools to complete tasks as required

Candidate Requirements

• 5 years or more experience in site supervision with new home construction
• Experience and knowledge of municipal building codes and regulations
• Knowledge using basic office software (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• BuildPro knowledge is a significant benefit
• Have your own pick up truck for transportation and job use
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering documentation
• Organized and efficient
